JACEK KOCHAN
Graduated at Academy of Fine Arts in Cracovia.Has studied percussions and vibraphone at Grant Mac Evan College in Edmonton. In the early eighties he moved to New York, where he studied with, among the others, with Jaco Pastorius, Mike Clark, Robbie Gonzales. He has played with Dave Liebman, Gary Thomas, Greg Osby, Uri Caine, Joey Calderazzo, George Garzone, Palle Mikkelborg, Jon Balke, Eddie Henderson, Mark Copland, Uwe Oberg, Nguyen Le, Seamus Blake and many others. He has published 17 cds as a leader.
ABOUT
The quintet gathers several of the finest Palermo jazz musicians and polish drummer Jacek Kochan.
The band's music is characterized by the liveliness of the rhythmic pulse and the rigorous construction of its architecture, which become frame and support for the free expression of the musicians through improvisation and interplay.
